Ethiopia is part of the Eastern Africa region in the continent of Africa. The name Ethiopia is believed to have derived from the Greek words meaning burn and face. It is in the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, near the equator and is 1.1 million square kilometres in size. The primary language spoken is Amharic, the capital city is Addis Ababa, and the main currency used is the Ethiopian Birr.
