Founded on April 11, 1994 in Paris around a helpline and support for people who are victims of homophobia , the association quickly published its first report on homophobia which reported on the testimonies collected on the helpline.
Today, SOS homophobia is a feminist association fighting against lesbophobia, gayphobia, biphobia, transphobia and intersexophobia , it has developed around three values : benevolence, inclusion, independence and three missions: support, prevent, militate.
Raising awareness in the school or professional environment, organization of events, publication of reports and surveys, legal support and accompaniment, or even prevention among young people are all activities carried out by the association’s volunteers.
SOS homophobia is recognized as being of general interest and has been approved by the Ministry of National Education to intervene as part of educational activities complementary to public education.
