Indonesia is part of the South-eastern Asia region in the continent of Asia. The name Indonesia is believed to have been named after the Greek words meaning Indian islands; it is also known as the Emerald of the Equator. It is in the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, near the equator and is 1.9 million square kilometres in size. The primary language spoken is Indonesian, the capital city is Jakarta, and the main currency used is the Rupiah.
