Nigeria is part of the Western Africa region in the continent of Africa. The name Nigeria is believed to have derived from the Tuareg term, which means flowing water, named after the Niger River. It is in the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, near the equator and is 923.8 thousand square kilometres in size. The primary language spoken is English, the capital city is Abuja, and the main currency used is the Naira.
