Malaysia is part of the South-eastern Asia region in the continent of Asia. Malaysia is also known as the Land of the Malays, and its name is believed to have derived from the Malay term meaning to steadily accelerate or run. It is in the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, near the equator and is 329.8 thousand square kilometres in size. The primary language spoken is Malay, the capital city is Kuala Lumpur, and the main currency used is the Malaysian Ringgit.
