Uganda is part of the Eastern Africa region in the continent of Africa. Uganda's name is believed to have derived from the name of the Swahili clans known as Baganda ('Brothers and Sisters' or 'Bundle People'). It is in the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, near the equator and is 236 thousand square kilometres in size. The primary language spoken is English, the capital city is Kampala, and the main currency used is the Uganda Shilling.
