Since it was founded in 1989, the Association for Sexual Emancipation (VSE) has represented the interests of lesbians, gays, bisexuals and people with a trans and intersex background (LGBTQIA) and has become the umbrella organization for numerous initiatives and projects in Braunschweig and developed in the region.
Well over 20 groups and projects have found a new home under the umbrella of the VSE. Several activities and initiatives are supported or organized by the VSE itself.
The VSE is supra-regional, mainly through the organization of the summer hole festival | Braunschweig’s CSD – the Christopher Street Day – and the sponsorship of the queer center Onkel Emma. The VSE appreciates and promotes diversity, openness and constructive debate and fights against discrimination, stigmatization and exclusion of any kind, in particular against homophobia and transphobia, sexism and racism.
